I'm leaving Furrsday for a six-day trip, so I started cleaning house yesterday in order to lull my cats into a false sense of security. They know that serious scrubbing means I'm going somewhere. But they were pretty relaxed antibleen night -- possibly because I haven't pulled out the suitcase yet...

Well, they're evil until you get home, at which point they must be sniffed ALL OVER.

Oh yes the ebil suitcase takes you away from them but on returning it brings so many delectable scents.

Whenever we go visit my Mom, her cat Blue is the resident Suitcase Inspector.

You have no choice, you must submit to inspection.

We had 2 keep our suitcases closed @ all times while we were there. Otherwise she was in them. And we had to make sure the door was closed when we opened them.

It doesn't latch properly though, so she usually got in. Twisted Evil

The funniest thing was the 1st night we were there.
She's always "my" cat whenever I'm home. bleen thing she always does is scold me for being gone for so long. Then she decides I'm worthy of head butts, but this time, after scolding me she went over to my shoes and Stuck her whole head inside. I wish we'd had the camera handy.

She's the back-talkingest cat I've ever seen. Her and my dad "argue" all the time. Laughing

My cats here just think of suitcases as shedding machines and scratching posts.

And apparantly, emergency toilets.

Funny thing is, when Sheba shows you her belleh she really does want you to rub it. And there's never any eviscerate-bunneh-kickingks attached.

I've never rubbed Chance's belleh b4, so I'm a little apprehensive, being she bites me all the time. Solomon occassionally bunneh kicks, but it is so cute, I just get a stick when he is in that mode. I have this cardboard tube stick from an old hanger that is apparently a lot of fun.

Oh MAgneato would be soo sneaky she would stretch and expose the belly and you would gently pet for a few moments and then Kitty Attack;;; (A total Ouchy kind that draws blood)
You would think I would learn my lesson after two of these but no I have years fo falling for this one!

and LOL The best kitty toys are found ones.

Echo is pretty good when it comes to showing off his belly. He does play, but he keeps his claws in for the most part, and his biting gentle.

Oh OH! I have a story!!

The other night I go to bed, well after everyone else as usual.
I realize Ben is still up. I hear him playing in his room and his light is on.
I open the door and a very wet Lucky goes streaking out of the room as fast as his lil' paws can carry him. With Ben trying to hold him back (and not succeeding, did I mention he was wet?)
So of course I put on the Mom voice and say, "WHAT did you do to the cat?!!"
Ben's got a grin a mile wide and sez, "I gave him a bath!"

I swear I barely paused a second, and asked (barely holding onto the Mom voice--fighting laughter) "How the heck did you avoid being shredded?!!"
There wasn't a mark on him!

He sez, "I was really careful and moved slow."

So this is what happened, Ben claims Lucky got behind the toilet in the bathroom and got "dirty" (prolly some dust/hair @ the most --I run a clean facility Wink ), so Ben decided Lucky needed a bath. He got a washcloth really wet and got Lucky wet with it, then used another wet washcloth with soap (his johnson & johnson babywash) and then another wet washcloth to rinse it off.

He said he didn't do it in the tub, just followed Lucky around the bathroom and did it. Then he somehow managed to get this wet cat from the bathroom to his bedroom.

All with the adults of the house not aware at all.

Hence the TRUE origin of the phrase, "It's quiet, too quiet."

We then had a conversation about how the soap could make Lucky sick if he didn't get it all rinsed out, and that cats bathe themselves, AND if he should ever feel the urge to bathe one of the animals at 10pm again, to get an adult's permission bleen.
Laughing Laughing

He was so proud of himself too.
I was careful not to squash that.
Kinda hard to be stern when you're laffin @ the imagry of him walking around the bathroom with a dripping washcloth, "Heeere Luckeeey".
And the fact taht he was able to do all that and then get him to the bedroom without Lucky escaping or getting scratched himself. Lucky and him really are buddies. But Lucky sure was done with him when I opened the door. LOL Cool

It seriously is surprising Grandma didn't call her pastor.
Cookie is long gone from us, but Grandma still talks about it. Thankfully I was there to witness it or no one would believe her. Laughing

I can't find a site with them, but they are frozen yellow turnips mashed with margerine. Southland is the brand, they do squash too.

Try this -

Boil a peeled cut up yellow turnip, a potato and a peeled apple and prepare like mashed potatoes. It's yummeh!

But he doesn't like KFC's (alleged) Mac & Cheese.

Such a smart kitteh.

Sheba decided she liked my pecan sandies this weekend.

The beasts are still being a little beyatchy toward each other, so I've instituted the squirt-bottle method. When they hiss and growl without provocation, they get a squirt.
